This Privacy Policy explains how WaslChat collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with our WhatsApp Business messaging platform. Please read it carefully. By using WaslChat, you agree to the practices described here.
1.Introduction
WaslChat ("WaslChat", "we", "us", or "our") is a customer-communication platform that helps businesses manage and automate conversations on the WhatsApp Business Platform — including a shared team inbox, chatbots, AI-assisted replies, broadcasts, appointment booking, and a lightweight storefront.
WaslChat is operated by WaslChat (Proprietor: Shaik Jafurulla), based in Andhra Pradesh, India. This policy covers the WaslChat web application, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), and applies to our business customers ("Customers") as well as to the end users who message those Customers via WhatsApp ("End Users").
2.Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information to provide the Service:
- WhatsApp Business account data. Information about the WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), phone number ID, display phone number, and verified business name that a Customer connects to WaslChat.
- Business account information via Meta Embedded Signup. When a Customer connects WhatsApp through Meta's Embedded Signup flow, we receive the business and account identifiers and access credentials needed to send and receive messages on the Customer's behalf.
- Phone numbers. The phone numbers of the Customer's WhatsApp Business number and of End Users who message that number.
- Message content. The content of messages (text, media, and interactive replies) exchanged between Customers and End Users, processed and stored so we can deliver, display, automate, and keep a history of conversations.
- Contact profile information. WhatsApp profile names and any contact details (such as name, email, tags, or notes) that Customers or End Users provide, used to identify contacts in the inbox.
- Usage & analytics data. Log data, device/browser information, feature usage, message and conversation metrics, and diagnostic information used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- Account & billing data. Customer account details (name, email, login credentials) and billing information required to manage subscriptions.
3.How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide WhatsApp messaging automation — sending, receiving, and delivering messages on a Customer's behalf;
- Route, organize, and store conversations in the shared inbox and conversation history;
- Power product features such as the team inbox, chatbots, AI-assisted replies, broadcasts, appointment booking, and the storefront;
- Process subscriptions, billing, and payments;
- Provide customer support and respond to requests;
- Monitor, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4.WhatsApp Business Platform & Meta
WaslChat is a Meta Tech Provider (Solution Partner / Tech Provider) that integrates with the WhatsApp Business Platform. Our Customers connect their own WhatsApp Business Accounts to WaslChat and remain the controllers of the conversations conducted through their numbers.
We access and process WhatsApp data solely to provide the Service to the Customer who owns the connected WhatsApp Business Account, and we handle such data in accordance with the WhatsApp Business Terms of Service, the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy, and the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
We do not sell user data, and we do not use WhatsApp message content for advertising. WhatsApp data is used only to operate the messaging features the Customer has enabled.
5.Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share information only with the following categories of recipients, and only as needed to run the Service:
- Meta Platforms / WhatsApp. To transmit and receive messages through the WhatsApp Business Platform.
- Hosting & infrastructure providers. Cloud hosting and database providers that store and process data on our behalf.
- Payment processor. Paddle, our merchant of record, processes subscription payments. Payment-card details are handled by Paddle and are not stored by WaslChat.
- Legal & safety. We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of WaslChat, our Customers, or others.
These sub-processors are bound by contractual obligations to protect data and to process it only for the purposes we specify.
6.Data Retention & Deletion
We retain personal data for as long as a Customer's account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Conversation and message data is retained while the associated account remains active; we delete or anonymize data within a reasonable period after an account is closed, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Customers and End Users may request deletion of their data by emailing hello@waslchat.io. We will action verified deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe, subject to legal retention requirements.
7.Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect data, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), encrypted storage of credentials, role-based access controls, and restricted, logged access to production systems. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we work to protect personal data and continuously improve our security practices.
8.Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@waslchat.io. Where WaslChat processes data on behalf of a Customer (as a processor), End Users should direct requests to the relevant Customer, and we will assist the Customer in responding.
9.International Data Transfers
WaslChat is operated from India, and your information may be processed and stored in India and in other regions where we or our sub-processors operate. Where data is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in accordance with this policy and applicable law.
10.Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
11.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
